In April 2004, JCG began
work as general contractor
on the Interstate 10/Picardy
Avenue Interchange project,
having been awarded the
contract by the Louisiana
Department of Transportation
and Development.
Project Scope:
·
I-10 reconstruction, which
provides an additional lane
east- and westbound
·
Construction of new frontage
roads on both sides of the
interstate
·
Construction of new on/off
ramps connecting I-10 to the
frontage roads
·
Construction of two steel
girder bridges that mirror
the on/off ramps on either
side of I-10 and two
concrete girder bridges that
enable travel between
Bluebonnet and Siegen
without use of the
interstate
Structural and earthwork
included:
·
84″-diameter drilled shaft
foundations
·
230,000 SF of mechanically
stabilized earth (MSE) wall
·
210,550 SY of concrete
(interstate and other
paving, bridge approach
slabs, poured-in-place
coping, cast-in-place
revetment)
·
50,899 LF (square precast
concrete piles and girders,
reinforced pipe and box
culverts, cast-in-place
roadway barriers)
·
1,768 CY of class AA
concrete for bridge
construction
