In late 2003, the Louisiana
DOTD awarded James
Construction Group the
contract to expand U.S. 167
from a two-lane to a
four-lane divided highway
incorporating grading,
drainage structures, Class
II base course, asphaltic
concrete pavement, and two
10-span flat-slab bridges.
Construction began in March
2004.
