Technip USA awarded James Construction Group phase I of the mechanical work at Valero Refining, which was adding a new hydrogen unit to its existing facility in Norco, Louisiana. As mechanical subcontractor, JCG erected two reformers. The construction activities included the following:

·   Erection of radiant and convection sections

·   Installation of an ammonia vaporization skid

·   Equipment setting (pumps, pump skids, fin fans, modular structural steel racks, PSAs, reactors, desulfurizers, ductwork, and stacks)

·   Installation of refractory

·   Installation of steel supports/platforms, ladders, and stairs

·   Fabrication of aboveground 1″ to 24″-diameter carbon steel, stainless steel, and exotic metals pipe

·   Hydrotesting of piping systems
